Silent Vault

How to play

2 to 5 players, all in the same team: you win or lose together. Open every key of the vault before the alarm goes off.

The keys

Each player holds a row of keys, sorted by number, that only they can see. There are four keys of each number, from 1 to the highest number chosen for the game (8 by default). There may also be golden keys and trap keys, numbered between the others (a golden 3.5 sits between the 3s and the 4s).

The start

Each player tags one of their own keys (not a trap): its number becomes visible to everybody. It is a clue for the team.

Your turn

• Match: show one of your keys and point at a teammate's key you think has the same number (golden keys match any golden key). Right: both keys open. Wrong: the alarm rises one step and the key you pointed at gets a tag showing its real number.
• Open alone: if you hold every key of a number that is still closed (or every closed golden key), you open them all at once.

The end

The team wins once every key but the traps is open. The team loses when the alarm reaches its last step (5 mistakes by default), or at once when someone points at a trap key.

Nobody may tell their numbers: the only clues are the tags and the moves.
